WHAT TO DO AFTER AN ACCIDENT +-

An accident can be a scary thing and often times the anxiety, confusion and stress can be overwhelming. We care about your safety, so in the unfortunate event of a collision, we recommend following these steps:

  • 1) Stay Safe: Remain calm. Stop safely. Turn Emergency lights on. Watch for oncoming traffic.
  • 2) Don't Apologize: An apology can imply fault. Never admit fault. If you have to say something, ask "Are you okay?"
  • 3) Contact Authorities: Call an ambulance if people are injured. Notify your supervisor if you are driving a company vehicle.
  • 4) Get Witnesses: Find and take note of contact information for anyone who may have seen the accident. They can provide another point of view. A witness information form can be found in the brochure attached to this page.
  • 5) Provide Contact Info: Show your driver's license and registration. A contact information form can be found in the brochure attached to this page.
  • 6) Record The Facts: You will want to take note of information such as time and place, make, model, and year of vehicles involved, emergency personal, and weather conditions.
  • 7) Release: If the other drive agrees you're not at fault, ask them to sign a release form. Below displays an example release form:
